Joey Connolly

Joey joined Faber Academy as the Academy Assistant in 2014, and since then has held every role the department has to offer. In addition, he’s been a student and a teacher of creative writing, as well as a critic and a prize-winning author. He founded a literary journal, Kaffeeklatsch, and was Manager of the Poetry Book Fair for several years. He likes to read poetry and literary fiction.

Nicci Cloke

Nicci has recently returned to Faber Academy as Communications Executive after spending a couple of years focusing on her own writing. She is the author of seven novels, both as herself and as Phoebe Locke. She has written literary fiction, YA and psychological thrillers, and likes to read all of those plus pretty much everything else.

Jade-Louisa Pepper

Jade-Louisa first joined Faber Academy in 2017 and now works as the Academy Coordinator. She also runs the Faber Creative Spaces program and hosts the #QUICKFIC Flash Fiction competition. She’s a voracious reader of crime (both fiction and non-fiction!) and young adult fiction.

Arabella Watkiss

Arabella joined Faber Academy as Academy Assistant after finishing a Creative Writing MA in the beautiful city of Manchester. She enjoys reading contemporary poetry and literary fiction and is also an aspiring writer.


How to get here

Come to one of the world's great literary cities and study creative writing at Faber Academy's home in historic Bloomsbury. Our London courses take place at Faber and Faber's offices, which have played host to some of the great writers of our times and provide an inspiring space in which to learn.
